Terms & Conditions
Course Payment & Refund Information
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. The balance must be received before the date of the course. If full payment is not received prior to the course date, Bash Academy reserves the right to refuse the client a place on the booked course. Should you have a discount code or credit on account, please apply this at checkout as these will not be accepted once payment has been made. Bash Academy reserves the right to change course prices or run offers at any time. Once a course booking has been made, the price paid is final and no price difference can be refunded retrospectively in the event a course price reduction or subsequent offer occurs.
All course fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Bash Academy is unable to offer refunds for cancellations outside of our control. Such situations may be flooding, adverse weather conditions, torrential rains and storms, traffic issues, industrial actions or terrorist attacks. In the event that any of the aforementioned situations take place, an alternative training date will be offered. Please note, Bash Academy cannot be held responsible for any loss of income, accommodation/travelling costs clients may incur due to the cancellation of courses.
Booking, Course Cancellation & Training Date Changes
Whether you book a training course online or over the phone, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours to confirm your booking. Please note, no booking is confirmed until an email is received. A payment receipt does not constitute a booking, only the confirmation email. If you have not received confirmation within 48 hours of booking, please call Bash Academy on 0191 466 1404 or email email@example.com. If the course you wish to book is due to start less than 48 hours prior to your booking, please call us directly on 0191 466 1404. We can then fast-track your booking and send an email to confirm as soon as your payment has cleared. Payment receipts are available upon request up to 12 months after the course date. Please note, that only VAT registered businesses can be issued with a VAT receipt or invoice (due to legal stipulations).
Rescheduling Requests & Fees
Bash Academy will consider each rescheduling request on its merits. It is at the Academy’s discretion as to whether they grant a rescheduling request. Proof of reason may be requested. If Bash Academy deems the reason valid, an administration fee of £50.00 per course date will be charged. Where no prior notice of non-attendance is given, this will result in a full loss of course fees. Where rescheduling is agreed, but an immediate rescheduling date isn’t possible, a credit for all or part of the course fee may be placed on file as a gesture of goodwill. Once again, this is at the discretion of Bash Academy. Credits will be valid towards full price training courses only and will be valid for 6 months from the rescheduling request. After this time, the course fee on account will be forfeited. Please note, in no circumstances can course fees be refunded. With all rescheduling requests, please contact the Bash Academy team on 0191 466 1404 or firstname.lastname@example.org . We aim to respond to all correspondence within 24 working hours.
Please note that bookings made must be in the name of the person attending the course. No booking is transferable to an alternative client unless there are extenuating circumstances. In the case that Bash Academy does grant a transfer of names, an administration fee of £25.00 will be applied. Any changes to name must be given 48 hours prior to the course date. If, for any reason, Bash Academy cancels the course you have booked, we endeavour to give at least 24 hours’ notice to each affected client and, where possible, offer an alternative date and time.
Should you fail to attend your original training dates for any reason and the course later be amended in content or removed from our list of courses offered, no refund will be offered. Please note, any course fees on account can be used towards payment for an alternative course within 6 months of the original booking date. Clients who fail to book, attend or reschedule training within 6 months of enrolling upon their course (taken from date of payment) will lose any course fees on account. In these circumstances, we cannot offer any refunds or further credits.
Minimum Student Age
Due to restrictions in public liability insurance, we are only able to accept clients who are aged 16 years or over for our training courses.
Our courses aim to be as all-inclusive as possible, but our insurance stipulates a number of factors to consider regarding medical conditions. With this in mind, please make us aware of anything that you believe may affect your practical training. Please note, we do not recommend that clients who are under 12 weeks or over 32 weeks pregnant take part in any training. We ask that all medical conditions are disclosed at the time of booking. Please rest assured that these will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence. Some conditions may hinder the ability for a client to participate fully and as an important part of training is to deliver and receive treatments, if a medical condition prevents this it may result in being refused access or not being accredited. We will, of course, make adjustments where possible and practical to accommodate specific medical conditions, but please be aware that a medical certificate may be requested and required in line with our insurance obligations. Where students are unable to receive treatments for medical reasons, a female model may be requested to be provided by the student for each training day – this may attract an additional charge. Failure to disclose known medical conditions or to provide a female model if required, which prohibit participation in a training course may result in a loss of course fees.
Special Educational Needs Training
Please make us aware of any particular learning requirements you may have. This will allow us to alter plans and make your practical training run as smoothly as possible. We always endeavour to include clients with special requirements within our main course delivery. However, we appreciate that this may not be appropriate for all and that those with specific needs benefit from tailored training on a one to one basis. We can guide you on which courses may be best designed for you where possible adjustments or special arrangements will be considered. Please note, an additional cost will apply for one to one training.
On The Day Of Your Course
For full day courses, please arrive at Bash Academy training centre at least 15 minutes before the start of your course. Please bring food and water; kitchen facilities and vending machines are also available. Late arrivals (before the course starts, after lunch or breaks) may be accepted or refused entry – this is at the discretion of the trainer on the day or the Bash Academy management team. This policy is in place to reduce disruption to all other clients on the course. In the event that you are late arriving in the morning and denied entry, please contact Bash Academy directly on 0191 466 1404 or email@example.com. Please note an administration fee of £50.00 will apply to reschedule your training. If you are late returning from lunch or breaks and denied re-entry to the course, you will be unable to complete your course and will lose all fees. Please use the Bash Academy website ‘Contact’ page where there are detailed directions – www.bashacademy.co.uk to help understand the location of your course or contact us directly on 0191 466 1404 where we are more than happy to pass on detailed information of where to find us. All clients must attend the full day’s training. Should you choose or need to leave a course before the course concludes, you will lose any course fees and may not achieve your accreditation.
Smoking is not allowed in the building or near the exits. Your tutor will direct you to the designated smoking area on site.
Depending on the course, you will either be expected to i) give and receive treatments or ii) bring your own model. Please see the full ‘info’ page of your course at www.bashacademy.co.uk which will stipulate specific requirements.
If your chosen course requires a live model, please be fully aware that it is your responsibility to source this person and ensure that they are suitable, i.e. no contraindications or conditions that will interfere with their ability to receive the treatment. You will also be responsible for ensuring that your model is punctual and has been patch tested 24-48 hours before the course start date, failure on either part will affect your ability to pass the course. If your model does not attend on the day of the course or has not been patch tested you will not be able to complete the course and all fees will be forfeited.
If your course requires learners to work on eachother please be as accommodating as possible to your classmates. A minimum of 6mm hair growth is required for waxing courses. Further info will be dependent on the course and will be listed in the course info page. If you have special reasons that you cannot receive a treatment you may be able to bring a model, but this will be at the tutors discretion and a minimum of two weeks notice must have been given. Refusal to receive a treatment during a course where previously stated will result in failure of your course and you will forfeit all course fees.
It is your responsibility to patch test your model 24-48 hours before the course start date with the products you will be using on the day e.g. lash adhesive from your starter kit. If you are required to receive treatments, it is your responsibility to book a patch test with Bash Academy 24-48 hours before the course start date. Failure to carry out the patch test will result in failure of the course and forfeit of all course fees.
Discrimination, equality and bullying
Our company policy is to be inclusive of all, so we have no restrictions on who attends our courses. With that in mind, you may find that you are involved in a mixed sex group. Where, for whatever reason, you require training in a same sex environment, please call or email us before you book the course, so we can accommodate your needs. We take all personal requests very seriously, and always endeavour to ensure every client feels comfortable throughout their training.
As all courses are taught in English, we ask that clients have a strong command of the English language (both written and spoken). This enables your course teacher to fairly assess a client’s competence to achieve any accreditation. If clients wishing to train feel they may experience issues due to language difficulties, please advise at the time of booking (via phone or email) as we will try to accommodate you through one to one training. Please note, additional costs apply for these types of training (see our Training pages for prices). Any client signing up for a course without sharing language challenges and ultimately aren’t able to participate or understand the teaching comprehensively may be refused accreditation which would unfortunately mean any course fees paid be forfeited.
Discrimiation against staff, tutors or other learners is taken very seriously and will result in you being asked to leave the course, without refund. We try our best to ensure that our teaching styles are fully inclusive and adaptive for every learner and endeavour to meet each individual learners needs. For this reason we ask every learner to be tolerant of each other and patient of different abilities within the group. If you notice another learner who is struggling, please let your tutor know discreetly.
Any discriminatory or bullying behaviour will not be tolerated. Discrimination is treating another learner differently because of their age, sex, race, disability or appearance. Discussions will be a part of your course; please respect each individual opinion and allow everyone to participate equally. Anyone deemed to be not following our terms and conditions will be asked to leave the course without refund.
Use of phones/cameras for photography or video is not permitted during training courses. Detailed training notes are provided at the time of booking. Our post course support is something we pride ourselves on, and as such we are always on hand to assist with any queries following your training, therefore recording course content should not be required. Please note, tutors may occasionally take photos or videos during training courses, but this will only take place with the prior consent of all clients taking part on that course. How images are used will be discussed on the day, but usually this will be for marketing purposes. If you cannot be photographed for religious or safety reasons please make your tutor fully aware as soon as possible.
Course & Equipment Information
Please note, you must be prepared to give and receive waxing treatments. If you attend the course with less than 6mm of hair growth or are unprepared to receive the treatment, you will not be allowed to take part, resulting in the loss of all course fees. Due to the nature of these treatments, we ask that all male students provide a female model upon which to practice.
If your course requires a starter kit it will always be clearly stated in the ‘Do I need a starter kit?’ section of the course page. If you attend without the correct equipment you may be denied entry to the course, without refund. Our starter kits are available for you to purchase at a discounted rate when purchased alongside a course. However, we are happy for you to use another brand as long as it has all of the items listed in our kit. The kits are intended for training and you may need to purchase additional items as you progress.
Beauty Insurance (Public Liability Insurance)
Following your practical training, you will receive a Bash Academy diploma by email (as discussed below) which will allow you to apply for beauty insurance to begin working on members of the public. This covers you to begin working on a self-employed basis (mobile) and to take payments should you wish.
We highly recommend ABT insurance with discounted rates available for Bash Academy students. Discount codes are given out during your course. Please note if you wish to obtain cover with a specific insurer, you must check with the insurer prior to booking your course that they will accept our Diploma. Insurers work to their own discretion over preferred training providers and this is beyond our control. If you hold an existing policy, you are responsible to ensure the insurance provider will extend your cover to include the new treatment(s) and for covering any cost to make changes. Bash Academy cannot accept responsibility for issues resulting with insurance companies where students fail to check this prior to booking. If working self-employed, you must also ensure you register with HMRC regarding any tax/national insurance applicable to any income earned on this basis. If intending to run a business from within your home, you must check your mortgage / deeds / tenancy to ensure there are no clauses to this. You may also need to enquire with your local council if seeking to change the use of an area of your home or to open business premises to check their requirements and if any special treatments local authority licensing is applicable. We recommend checking these factors prior to booking to enable you to make suitable plans for your new career.
Accreditation Qualifications & Certificates
Depending on your course, the certificate will either be given in person on the day or sent by email within one week. Certificates are provided to meet the needs of insurance providers. Should you fail to receive your certificate please let us know as soon as possible by email firstname.lastname@example.org. It is your responsibility to let us know within 30 days of the course if you haven’t received your certificate, beyond this time the below fees will apply. If you require your name to be changed on your certificate we will require the relevant evidence and fee. Replacement certificates (sent by email or hard copy by post) for training completed more than 30 days ago is £25 per certificate. Once your payment is received, your request will be processed and your certificate(s) sent to you within 5 working days.
Complaints & General Housekeeping
Bash is committed to providing excellent training to all of our clients. Therefore, if you have any concerns on the day of your training, please raise this directly with your trainer as most concerns can be overcome this way. If however, you do not feel you can broach this with your trainer, please email email@example.com with the details of the difficulty or issue you faced. We ask that any email of this nature is received in writing within 5 days of your training course. If you would like to post your concern in the post, please send to Bash Academy, Number 33, North Tyne Industrial Estate. NE12 9SZ. Anything raised will always be dealt with by management in the strictest of confidence. Please rest assured, we take any feedback very seriously and therefore all complaints are investigated appropriately and thoroughly. We aim to respond to all such correspondence within 5 working days.
For general enquiries please contact:
Whilst Bash Academy has its own training centre, we are part of a business facility called Number 33 (ran by Thirty Three Management Limited (TTML)). As such the Bash employees adhere to TTML’s codes of conduct and therefore we ask that all of our clients do the same. Please note the following at all times:
- Bash and/or TTML cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage to or theft of personal property or vehicles whilst on site. We therefore encourage clients to leave all valuables at home and be aware of the location of their belongings throughout the day. Any property found after a training course will be retained for 14 days, following which it will be disposed as appropriate. Students are responsible for collection of lost items from site, by appointment. We cannot post or deliver any lost property.
- Use of mobile phones is forbidden in our training centre and during training. Phones can of course be used outside the training area away from other businesses. As Number 33 is a working business centre, they ask out of common courtesy for people to be sensible with mobile phone use within the building
- No smoking or use of e-cigarettes is allowed within the Number 33 building. A designated smoking area (for all types of smoking) can be found on site. There is a cigarette ‘bin’ which should be used for any litter or cigarette butts.
- Alcohol or drug taking is not permitted at Bash Academy or at Number 33’s premises. Any client found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs may be asked to leave the Academy. In some circumstances and where appropriate, the police may be contacted.
- We ask that you are well mannered throughout the training day and when you at Number 33. Foul, inappropriate or abusive language will not be tolerated neither will be rude or challenging behaviour. Bash Academy reserves the right to remove any client from the course who they deem to be disruptive and/or distracting other clients.
- From a disciplinary procedure, no form of what a tutor or manager deems as abuse or abusive will be tolerated. At first, a single verbal warning will be issued from the tutor and should poor conduct continue, a client will be asked to leave training with immediate effect. In such circumstances, the omitted client will not receive their accreditation and course fees will not be refunded.
